These exceptional standards made it all the more exciting when NEMPA decided to give its Ritvo Design and Elegance Award to the 2015 Infiniti Q50 The Q50 has played an important role within Infiniti's brand since it was introduced in 2013. The sedan had a more aggressive look than Infiniti had given its cars. It was a slight gamble, but the company was willing to take a chance on its double arch grille, LED headlights, and crescent-cut C-pillar. The gamble certainly paid off. Buyers liked the look so much that Infiniti used many of the Q50's innovative design elements in future vehicles. By the time it won the NEMPA award in 2015, Infiniti and its fans already knew that they had something special. Still, it's always nice to get recognized by an organization that takes design so seriously. Infiniti Reveals the All-New Q30 at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show

Infiniti Q30 Here at Sawgrass Infiniti, we’ve been waiting along with the rest of the world for the unveiling of the newest Infiniti, the Q30 active compact. Well, the long wait has finally ended with the introduction of the all-new Q30 at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany. Although Infiniti has been teasing us with glimpses and specs of this brand new luxury compact, the thrill at finally seeing it was everything we could have hoped for. As the first real luxury compact from Infiniti since the G20 (but we won’t really count that one), the Infiniti Q30 is truly an impressive package. more The new Q30 combines the unique styling cues and powerful performance of the larger Infiniti models, while sacrificing none of the luxury that we expect from an Infiniti. Still, this is a truly unique vehicle that defies easy classification. It has the profile of a hatchback or crossover, but maintains a lower roofline like a sedan. Part of the reason for this unique appearance is the fact that the Q30 isn’t based on any existing Nissan or Infiniti platform. This new luxury compact is the debut of the collaboration between Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz, and actually shares a platform with the Mercedes A-Class sedan. The Infiniti Q30 Up Close By now you’ve probably seen the images of the Q30, from its sweeping curves to its aggressive stance and its chiseled body contours – all of which are pure Infiniti styling. But underneath the incredible good looks is a powerful and dynamic machine that is built for performance. The Mercedes-designed 2.0-liter engine will produce 208 horsepower at a minimum, and deliver 258 pound-feet of torque. It will come with either a 6-speed manual transmission, or a 7-speed automatic. Its suspension will consist of front struts and a rear multi-link suspension, similar to the A-Class, but that are specially tuned by Infiniti to deliver crisp and precise handling. The Infiniti Q30 Features The idea of an ‘active compact’ luxury vehicle from Infiniti is based on the company’s clearly defined goal of attracting a younger demographic. In designing a dynamic luxury car that’s priced in the same category as many non-luxury brands, Infiniti has already scored a big victory. The luxurious interior features of the Q30 are unexpected in such a so-called entry offering, but are nevertheless appreciated. The attention to detail and the high quality materials used in the cabin are top-tier. The amenities, technology offerings and luxury features provide an experience that would be more expected in the Q70 than in this compact offering. Here at Sawgrass Infiniti we’re still very excited to see the new 2016 Infiniti Q30 here in our showroom. If you’re interested in being one of the first to see and drive this amazing new luxury compact, drop us a line or call in to let us know. We’ll make sure our loyal customers are the first ones to experience this exciting vehicle.

When it Comes to Financing, What's Considered Good Credit?

It’s no secret that when it comes to buying a new Infiniti – or any other vehicle – your credit makes a big difference in the loan you can get. That’s because lenders look at your credit score when determining if you’re a good risk in lending you money. The better your credit, the more likely you are to get a great new car loan. But have you ever wondered just what is considered good credit? The FICO credit scoring model is the most commonly used system for measuring a consumer’s credit-worthiness. This system has been in place since 1989, and is used by lenders nationwide in approving or denying loan applications. The FICO model uses a scoring system of between 300 and 850 points, with the higher numbers representing better credit scores. more How Credit Scored are Determined The FICO scoring model was developed to determine the risk associated with lending to an individual. By assigning a point value to a potential borrower, it allows lending institutions to gauge how much risk they were taking on. The lender can then compensate for that risk by charging a higher interest rate to borrowers that were determined to be a higher risk. The FICO system uses 5 basic metrics in determining your credit score. These metrics and the relative weighting of each are as follows: Payment History – 35% Amounts Owed – 30% Length of Credit History – 15% Types of Credit Used – 10% Newly Acquired Credit – 10% These metrics are then used by the three major credit reporting agencies; Experian, Equifax and TransUnion to assign a score based on their own proprietary algorithms. The basic information they all use is the same, but because each uses a different way of calculating, the scores from each agency can vary by a certain amount. So, What is Good Credit? According to most experts, a credit score greater than 750 is considered excellent. Any score above 700 would generally be thought of as good credit, and a score of between 650 and 700 can be considered fair. Credit scores below 620 or so are thought of as poor to very poor. So, if your credit score is 700 or higher, you can expect to receive more favorable loan terms and a lower interest rate or APR. If your score is more than 750, you can expect to receive the best terms a lender is likely to offer. Here at Sawgrass Infiniti, our loan experts work to find the best loan and terms possible to match any financial situation. We work with lenders of all types to match up those with good credit and even those who have some credit challenges. If you’re interested in learning more about how your credit score will impact your purchase of a new or pre- owned Infiniti vehicle from Sawgrass Infiniti, call or stop by and speak with one of our loan experts. Chances are good that we can find you the right loan and the right payment amount to make buying your new Infiniti a reality.

What Does Each Infiniti Dashboard Warning/Indicator Light Mean?

If the sight of an indicator or warning light on your Infiniti vehicle’s dashboard has you worried, don’t panic. First off, Infiniti vehicles are some of the safest and most technologically advanced cars and SUVs on the road. The purpose of these warning lights is to let you know about your vehicle’s many systems and their functioning. If one of them comes on during normal operation, it may be a message from your car’s diagnostic system that something needs to be checked out. In this case, bring it in to our service department here at Sawgrass Infiniti and we’ll have a look at it. more If you notice the indicator lights on the dashboard of your Infiniti when you start the ignition, you’ll see that most of them are illuminated for a short time before going out. But with all of those different lights and indicators, how do you know what your car is trying to tell you when one of them stays on? Here’s a quick guide to each of the warning lights, and just what it is they’re indicating. ABS - Anti-Lock Brake System If the ABS warning light illuminates and stays on, it may indicate a problem with your car’s anti-lock braking system. The brakes should still function, but without the anti-lock assistance. Have this checked as soon as possible. Engine Oil Pressure Light This light warns of low engine oil pressure. The engine oil pressure warning light is not designed to indicate a low oil level. Use the dipstick to check the oil level. Stop the engine immediately, and call Sawgrass Infiniti. Brake Warning Light If the Brake warning light comes on and stays on, it may indicate that your parking brake is still engaged. It could also mean that your brake fluid level is low and needs to be filled. Note: This is a serious warning and should be addressed immediately. Malfuntion Indicator Light If this indicator light comes on steady or blinks while the engine is running, it may indicate a potential emission control malfunction. The light may also come on steady if the fuel-filler cap is loose or missing. Contact Sawgrass Infiniti to have this checked out immediately. Charge Warning Light This warning light indicates a potential problem with your car’s charging system. If this light comes on and stays on, it could indicate a drain on the battery that may soon render your vehicle inoperable. Have this condition checked immediately. Tire Pressure Warning Light Most newer Infiniti vehicles are equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). When illuminated, this indicator warns of low pressure in one or more of your vehicle’s tires. More information may appear in your vehicle information display, such as “Tire Pressure Low – Add Air” or “Flat Tire – Visit Dealer” Master Warning Light The master warning light is used to notify you of a potential problem with one or more of your vehicle’s advanced systems. It will be accompanied by a message in your car’s vehicle information display with a more detailed system message. Power Steering Warning Light This indicator light is used on Infiniti vehicles that are equipped with Direct Adaptive Steering. If this warning light comes on and stays on, bring your Infiniti vehicle into our service center to have it checked. Supplemental Air Bag Warning Light If this indicator light comes on, or if it flashes intermittently, bring you vehicle in to our service center for repair. It may indicate that either the air bags or the seatbelt pre-tensioners are not operating correctly. Vehicle Dynamic Control When the VDC system is operating correctly, this light may flash when the system is engaged. If the VDC light illuminates and stays on, it may indicate a problem with the system. In this case, bring your vehicle in for servicing. Security Indicator Light This light blinks whenever the ignition switch is in the LOCK, OFF or ACC position. This function indicates the security system equipped on the vehicle is operational. Refer to your manual for more information. Here at Sawgrass Infiniti we want our valued customers to feel as safe as possible in their Infiniti vehicles. Infiniti QX30-Concept

New Infiniti QX30 Crossover Is On Its Way

When it was unveiled in early March at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland, the new Infiniti QX30 concept vehicle looked both familiar, and surprisingly new. This exciting new compact crossover looks familiar because it has some of the same recent styling cues that Infiniti has begun attaching to the new lineup. It also looks familiar because it’s almost identical to the recently announced Q30 compact hatchback that will be coming out later this year. more The difference between the Q30 and this new QX30 compact crossover is in the higher stance, more muscular wheel-well flares, larger wheels and a generally larger presence. Ok, so both vehicles share the same platform, and both have the same engines, but somehow the new QX30 just appears bigger and more capable. Of course there are other differences between the two siblings, including the aggressively styled front fascia and air intake on the QX30, as well as trim and detail cues. All of us here at Sawgrass Infiniti are definitely impressed with both of these new Infiniti compacts. We think this ushers in a new era of styling, and gives Infiniti vehicles a solid foundation in the fast growing luxury compact segment. As we see more value-conscious drivers here in our showroom, we think these new vehicles are a logical choice and a great alternative to the bland competition. Expected Powertrain and Performance Like the Q30, the new Infiniti QX30 crossover will use a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that was designed by Mercedes-Benz. The expectation is that this powerful little engine will produce somewhere around 235 to 250-horsepower. It will also be paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission and will be offered in an all-wheel drive version. Since exact numbers aren’t officially available yet, there is no way to estimate any fuel economy numbers; however, the 2.0-liter engines from Mercedes-Benz that are in current production receive very high efficiency ratings in the 30+ mpg range. Infiniti QX30 Styling As we mentioned at the top, the styling cues for both the Q30 and QX30 are representative of Infiniti’s unique new design vision. The “notched” c-pillar and strongly defined longitudinal body lines. In fact, the entire appearance of both of these new compacts are a clue to where Infiniti plans to take the upcoming generations of vehicles – and we thank that’s a good thing. Inside the new QX30 you instantly lose any impression that this is an entry level or valued priced vehicle. While leather seating will be an option, even without this luxurious touch the QX30 is lavishly styled. The flowing and organic lines from the exterior carry over into the cabin space, and offer a sense of wrap-around comfort without ever feeling cramped. The materials and trim details set the QX30 apart from just any old compact SUV, while the ample technology features are enough to keep even the most tech-savvy millennial happy. This new Infiniti QX30 is sure to be a hit here in South Florida. We envision this luxury compact SUV to be one of the best-sellers in our dealership when it finally arrives for the 2016 model year. If you’re interested in learning more about the new Infiniti QX30, drop us a line.  We’ll make sure you are one of the first to see and drive the new compact crossover when it arrives in our dealership. That way you can share in the excitement of everyone here at Sawgrass Infiniti.

Infiniti Q60 Coupe Concept

Infiniti Previews the New Q60 Coupe

Debut of the New Infiniti Q60 Coupe When the new Infiniti Q60 Coupe Concept was unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, it made quite an impression. The stunning new luxury sports coupe was the star of the show in front of an appreciative audience of automotive journalists and admiring car enthusiasts. As we know, Infiniti designed vehicles in recent years have gotten bolder and more daring, with new and sleeker body lines and a combination of voluptuous curves with chiseled lines. The new Infiniti Q60 Coupe Concept is no exception to this bold styling signature. In fact, if anything, it is one of the most daring designs yet. more Here are some of the notable comments made about new Infiniti Q60 at its debut: “The show-stopping Q60 Concept is an original and bold reinterpretation of an elegant lifestyle 2+2 coupe.” "The Q60 is Infiniti's most emotional and accessible concept so far." “A unique proposition of striking styling and a high-output powertrain in a premium package.” A Bold New Look The heritage of the Infiniti Q60, formerly the G37 Coupe, is one of power, performance and style. It is a design that has appealed to drivers young and old, who appreciate sports car performance with all of the luxury you get from Infiniti vehicles. The G37 and subsequent Q60 Coupes have been among the most popular Infiniti vehicles sold here at Sawgrass Infiniti. The new Q60 Concept car stays true to the sporty heritage of the current design, but with a radically new and updated styling. Its wide open grill and bold front fascia sweep up into narrow headlights that complete an appearance of menacing aggressiveness. The flared wheel wells and crisp body creases taper back to muscular haunches that make the Q60 appear ready to leap forward. The sloping roof line meets the trunk lid in a small spoiler that perfectly complements the Q60’s sleek profile. Power, Performance and Handling It is expected that the new generation of direct-injected, twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engines will be paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission to power this new sports coupe. The new engine is likely to offer more power and a significant improvement in fuel economy and overall performance. The numbers being talked about are in the 400-horsepower range, with highway MPG numbers in the high twenties. Infiniti’s design director, Alfonso Albaisa, is quoted as saying, “Design, performance and premium quality – these are what makes a sports coupe stand above the crowd. And these are what you'll find on the definitive Q60 Concept." The new Q60 concept, as with the highly-praised Q50 Sedan, share design characteristics, and even some components, with Nissan’s legendary GT-R Supercar. This will undoubtedly mean the new Q60, when it comes into production, will be a true performance sports car. From Concept to Production In designing this new concept sports coupe, Infiniti has put into practice their concept-to-production approach to vehicle design. This “fast tracking” of a radical new design may be what we can expect from the leaner and more independent Infiniti design team. While innovation has been a hallmark of Infiniti design for years, we may see even more new and radical designs in the coming years. In the meantime, look for the new Infiniti Q60 to make its appearance sometime in 2016. We’ll keep you posted on the progress of this exciting new Infiniti Coupe as it nears production, so keep checking in with us. If you’d like to be one of the first to own the new Q60 when it becomes available, call Sawgrass Infiniti and let us know to reserve one for you. Then you’ll really have something to look forward to!

2015 Infiniti Q50 and Q70 - Top Safety Picks

2015 Infiniti Q50 and Q70 Earn Top Safety Pick + From IIHS

In vehicle safety rating tests, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is the top non-governmental organization for measuring how vehicles perform in the event of a crash. They put vehicles through a variety of collision scenarios, and give each one a score based on how well they perform and how safe they keep occupants. They also take into consideration the technology in a vehicle that can help to prevent a crash or lessen its severity.  All of these tests are designed to give car buyers an idea of how the vehicle performs if the worst should happen. more That’s why it is such a huge accomplishment when a vehicle achieves the highest rating possible in IIHS crash tests. This year both the 2015 Infiniti Q50 and the 2015 Infiniti Q70 have received the Top Safety Pick + rating – the IIHS’s highest accolade. Only 33 vehicles out of the hundreds tested managed to meet the criteria and be awarded this important achievement. What Safety Features Does IIHS Test? The IIHS puts every vehicle they test through a rigorous series of real-life collisions in a lab environment, where the results are measured and analyzed. Each test simulates an actual real-world crash that drivers and occupants might experience. The IIHS tests include: Front overlap crash tests (small and moderate) Side-impact crash test Rollover/roof strength test Head restraint and seating test Front crash prevention test (for Top Safety Pick + rating) In order to qualify for a Top Safety Pick + rating in this year’s test, vehicles for the first time ever had to include the ability to slow down or stop to avoid a collision without driver intervention. Infiniti’s Forward Emergency Braking and Predictive Forward Collision Warning systems are what qualified the Q50 and Q70 for this year’s top rating. 2015 Infiniti Q30

The New Infiniti Q30 to be Released in 2015

When the all-new Q30 makes its debut in 2015 for the 2016 model year, it will be a significant first for Infiniti on many levels. For one thing, it will mark the introduction of a new vehicle category – the Premium Compact segment. It will also cement ties with Daimler AG, since the platform and engine for the new Q30 has been designed and licensed by the German carmaker’s Mercedes-Benz team. This historic partnership will combine Infiniti quality, design and craftsmanship with a European powertrain for the first time. The result will be a world-class luxury compact vehicle that is completely new, and completely unique. more A single glance at the new Q30 will instantly reveal the combined design features from different vehicle types. Although it appears to be a 5-door hatchback, it has the taller stance of an SUV or crossover. It also has the wheels set at the extreme corners, leaving a clue that point towards its sporty performance and agile handling. Here at Sawgrass Infiniti, we’re anticipating a strong demand for this new Q30. The target market for such a radically new design is a younger and more demanding driver who wants an advanced and dynamic vehicle, at an entry-level price. While the new Q30 will not be an economy-level car by any stretch, it is expected to be the lowest priced Infiniti on the market. A World-Class Vehicle for Changing Global Driving Demands Adding to the global nature of the new Q30’s design is the fact that Infiniti and Daimler have partnered to build a new engine manufacturing plant right here in America – an expansion of Nissan’s engine plant in Decherd, Tennessee. The engine being made in this new facility, the same one that will ultimately end up in the new Q30, is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that also powers some Mercedes-Benz models sold here in the U.S., in Europe and elsewhere around the world. The new engine, combined with a platform that is similar to Mercedes-Benz’ CLA-Class vehicles will likely have similar performance numbers. That means around 210-horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque – quite the potent blend for such a compact vehicle. Also available soon after the debut of the Q30, will be a QX30 compact luxury crossover, with an even higher stance and more aggressive styling. An Interior to Match Its Spectacular Profile The Q30’s interior is exquisitely-crafted, with an arched and overlapping dash that is like no other Infiniti design before it. The graceful curves and flowing lines are practically organic in their feel, while the cabin surfaces offer a richness that could only have been designed by Infiniti. With a blend of ultra-modern and classic materials, the Q30 will be both stylish and timeless in its cabin appointments. This all-new Infiniti Q30 is bound to be a success both here in South Florida, and around the world. Its completely unique and unprecedented styling, combined with its status as a premium-level compact vehicle are sure to make it one of the standout vehicles of 2015 and beyond.
