Therefore, this warning provides the driver with more information for a better decision making when moving to another lane. Also, the available Blind Spot Intervention proactively assists the vehicle to go back to the center of the lane in case the car starts moving over other ones without intention of changing the lane. The Blind Spot Warning Feature and the Blind Spot Intervention are the perfect blind spot prescription! REAR AUTOMATIC BRAKING This available feature continuously monitors the back area of the vehicle for stationary objects that might not be visible for the INFINITI owner when driving. In the case that for some reason brakes are not applied, the technology automatically could engage the brakes to help prevent any impact or reduce the possible damage. Even though this feature cannot prevent all collisions, it does provide an extra help that otherwise would not be there to prevent collisions from happening. PREDICTIVE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING This innovative technology analyses the distance between the car being driven with, the one in front, and the one that follows to assist on stressful situations like when going fast on a highway or stopping many times in the city traffic. This warning will let the front passenger know to be alert if the car is predicting a possible collision. FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING WITH PEDESTRIAN DETECTION The breakthrough Forward Emergency Braking feature with pedestrian detection calculates the speed and distance between the INFINITI SUV and the one in front while also having the ability to detect pedestrians which is a standard system that can let the driver know with an audio and visual warning so any potential hit can be prevented. In the case brakes are not applied by the driver, the car can partially or fully apply the brakes if necessary. LANE DEPARTURE WARNING This feature uses a camera to continuously check and monitor the distance of the vehicle with the center of the lane markings and provides an audible warning to alert the driver that the vehicle may be moving to any side unintentionally. Therefore, if the driver gets distracted or for some reason, the vehicle gets closer to the lane, there can be a sound let alert. REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT INFINITI also knows that going forward is not the only thing that matters. This system assists when the car is backing out from a parking space and is going in reverse. The technology will detect if other cars are passing by or getting close from any of the sides and will alert so the driver is conscious of the surroundings and can continue to leave the parking space when possible. AROUND VIEW® MONITOR WITH MOVING OBJECT DETECTION The available Around View Monitor feature allows the passengers to have a virtual 360 degrees view of the vehicle and complete surroundings with visual and audible alerts with the moving object detection on the images displaying so every side of the vehicle is visible even inside of the car. BACKUP COLLISION INTERVENTION This optional system is an evolution of the driving experience that INFINITI SUV drivers will appreciate. Sensors all over the back and sides of the vehicle will warn the driver when there is a potential collision with a car approaching or a stationary object from any of the sides while going reverse. If necessary, gas pedal pushback and/or brakes could be applied automatically by the vehicle to avoid any accident. Impact Protection INFINITI engineers were able to create new systems that work as one to better protect its passengers and drivers. The Roof-Mounted Side-Impact Airbags provides head protection for all the rows of the vehicle. The Side Impact Airbags move with the front seat to improve and obtain optimum positioning at all times. The Passenger Airbags Sensor allows the car to know if the passenger’ seat is empty to deactivate the airbag. Finally, the INFINITI Advanced Airbag System unifies the front airbags with seat belt and occupant sensors to adjust inflation rate depending on the crash severity. Intelligent Cruise Control If activated, the optional Intelligent Cruise Control can change speed and distance intervals. When there is traffic, the technology can make the vehicle go slow to help maintain distance and then accelerate speed if the traffic starts to move.
